Airchannel customers benefit from Carbon Trust support

With increased pressure on businesses to align new capital equipment investment with environmental initiatives, Airchannel customers can benefit from Carbon Trust Loans that offer interest free payments on approved installations.
As the UK’s leading independent compressed air specialist, Airchannel can assess a company’s needs and provide unbiased advice on the most appropriate system that will meet the latest regulations and be cost effective.
In the case of print specialists, ProCo Print Limited, Airchannel’s experienced engineers data-logged four small compressors used by the company and calculated that replacing these with a single Hydrovane HV22RSAERD unit could make significant savings.
The old system involved ProCo Print running two compressed air systems at 7 bar and 10 bar with separate Transair pipework for each. By switching to the variable speed Hydrovane the company will make savings of over £4,000 a year.
The HV22RS unit has been installed to run at a pressure of 9 bar, which has no adverse effect on the 10 bar equipment, and through regulators fitted to the 7 bar system, the target pressure is achieved for machinery running at this pressure.
Airchannel applied for an interest free loan of £11,850, to be repaid over a four year period, on behalf of ProCo Print, which was granted on the basis of four years electricity energy savings representing over £16,000.
“The interest free loan scheme available from the Carbon Trust for low energy use equipment is an excellent initiative, particularly in these tough economic times,” says Andrew Barraclough, national sales manager at Airchannel.
“It enables a company to invest in new compressed air solutions that will meet its needs but also have a low impact on the environment. This is vital going forward as climate change is an issue that the industry can’t ignore.”
